Recycle Right
The Adelaide Hills Council is calling on all residents to take part in a new education campaign to increase recycling and reduce confusion around items which go in each bin.
When it comes to recycling our waste, South Australians are doing a great job. In fact around 70% of our waste gets recycled!
But we can still do more – and it’s easy.
We still send a lot of valuable resources to landfill that could go in the yellow recycling bin. Or we put the wrong items in the recycling bin, which can spoil a whole truckload if recycling.
Recycle Right is a pilot campaign being trialled with five Councils across South Australia in the coming months.
In the very near future Adelaide Hills Council householders will receive a letter-box delivered package with an information ‘disc’ and bin lid sticker, which explains and reminds them ‘what goes in which bin’. If you have questions on recycling call 1300 137 118 or visit the Zero Waste SA website at www.zerowaste.sa.gov.au/ which contains comprehensive information on how to recycle correctly with an educational video showing how materials are sorted at a material recovery facility.
